Privacy policy

PayStubVerifier ("we") is operated by Derek Choate. This policy explains what happens to the pay stubs you upload and the little we keep about you. Questions: support@paystubverifier.com.

Pay stubs you upload

• We don't store them. Files are held in memory while we read them and discarded as soon as your worksheet is ready. We never write them to disk or a database.
• An AI provider reads them. To pull the figures off each stub we send the file to Anthropic's API. Under Anthropic's commercial terms it does not use API data to train its models, and it may keep inputs for up to 30 days for trust and safety monitoring before deleting them.
• The worksheet stays with you. Results are shown in your browser and downloaded to your device. We don't keep a copy; exporting to Excel sends the figures back to us only long enough to build the file.
• Stubs contain other people's personal information. By uploading one you confirm you're allowed to, for example because the person gave it to you for a rental, loan or bookkeeping purpose.

What we keep

• Your account: your email address, your plan, and how many pages you've used this period.
• Visitors without an account: your IP address and a page count for the day, to enforce the free limit.
• Payments: handled by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer ID, never your card details.
• Logs: standard server logs (IP address, time, page requested) and page counts, kept up to 30 days to run and secure the service. Logs never contain stub contents.

Cookies

One cookie, set when you sign in, keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. No advertising or tracking cookies.

Who we share data with

• Anthropic: reads uploaded stubs, as described above.
• Stripe: payments and billing.
• Resend: sends sign-in emails.
• DigitalOcean and Cloudflare: hosting and DNS.

We don't sell personal information or share it for advertising.

Your choices

You can cancel your plan any time from Manage billing. To delete your account and its data, email us from the address on the account and we'll do it within 30 days. Stripe keeps payment records it is legally required to keep. Residents of California and other states with privacy laws can use the same address to ask what we hold about them.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and email account holders about significant changes.
